Why is it called 18?
Dawn Morningstar (her given name) is an advocate for women, award-winning author, master life coach, speaker, podcast host, educator, creator of Radiant Face 18 and the grateful mother of two self-empowered, loving daughters.
Dawn has been a women's self-empowerment coach for over 35 years and has dedicated her personal and professional life to women's self-empowerment.
Why is it called 18?
In 2011, the company that manufactured Dawn's favorite organic lotion, which she'd used for years, changed the formula. She was so disappointed that she called the president of the company and asked if the company would either go back to the old formula or sell Dawn any bottles of the original formula left in the warehouse! The answer was a firm "no."
Not being one to give up, Dawn began a search for a moisturizer for her face that was clean--free of chemicals, parabens and fillers--one that was cruelty free and really worked!
When Dawn couldn't find anything on the market that fit the bill, she decided to create her own facial hydrating moisturizer cream.
Having had her esthetician's license in the past, she began making small batches (nearly 100!), using pure, organic essential and beneficial oils, until she found a formula that worked.
In her training as an esthetician many years before, Dawn had learned what was good for skin and decided to put it in a bottle!
Dawn began using her new creation herself and her friends all commented on how radiant her skin looked. Everyone wanted to try it and then buy it!
Since she had not intended to create an actual product to sell, but only something to use herself, Dawn did not have a name for her magic lotion, as many called it. Then something interesting began to happen--the number 18 came coming up.
- After making all of those small batches, the "winning batch" was created on June 18th, Dawn's daughter's birthday.
- Dawn realized there were 18 pure, all natural organic ingredients in her cream.
- A woman in her late 70s, Dawn's first friend to try the face cream, exclaimed, "My skin feels like it did when I was 18!"
- And finally, a Jewish friend of Dawn's who sampled and loved the moisturizer, when hearing there were 18 ingredients in it said, "In Judaism, the number 18 represents “CHAI” which means “LIFE."
It was settled, with all those 18s popping up, Dawn decided, I'll call it 18! (Originally, it was called Facial Serum 18. And though it does have serum-like qualities, since it's not technically a serum, she would change the name to Radiant Face 18.)

Dawn released Venerable Women: Transform Ourselves, Transform the World (Venerable Women LLC, 2016) which became a 2016 finalist in The International Book Awards and the Midwest Independent Publishing Association Awards. Dawn is a contributing author to Amazing Workplace: Creating the Conditions that Inspire Success (Spirit of Success LLC, 2017).
Dawn Morningstar founded Venerable Women in 2013 as a sisterhood, a philosophy and a movement with and for women who choose to manifest a kind and loving world, starting within themselves. Her life-changing signature program, Living LOVE (Lives Of Venerable Expression), inspires hope and transformation for the creation of a new world.
Dawn has given over 1500 talks since 2016 and in November 2019, appeared on the TEDx stage in Oakland, California and spoke about women in prison she had mentored.
In May 2021, Dawn, with Mecca Page and Shawn Vougeot, co-founded New World Women, a community of like-hearted women who support one another, grow together, stay inspired and receive financial rewards for taking care of themselves and others.
